1. Overwatering
Overwatering is one of the main reasons why anthurium buds fail to open. These tropical plants like moist but well-drained soil. When the roots sit in water for too long, they start to rot and can’t send nutrients to the buds. This causes them to wilt or dry before opening.
Water only when the top inch of soil feels dry. Always use a pot with drainage holes, and never let the plant sit in a saucer full of water.
2. Underwatering
Just as too much water can harm your plant, too little can also stop the blooms from developing. If your soil is too dry for long periods, the buds may shrivel up and die before they open.
Keep the soil evenly moist. If the leaves look droopy and the soil feels dry, give the plant a good drink and mist it lightly to raise humidity.
3. Low Humidity
Anthuriums come from tropical rainforests where the air is warm and humid. When indoor air is too dry—especially during winter—the buds may dry out before blooming.

6. Too Much Fertilizer

7. Pests and Diseases
